Hello, this is me.

Buongiorno amici! Elisa here, trying out my new blog.

This blog is going to be one way I can share with you, and document for myself, my semester abroad in Florence, Italy.

I leave for Italia on January 24th (God grant me patience). I'll be taking classes from Florence University of the Arts, which is pretty much right in the middle of Florence! Right now I'm signed up for Landscape & Architecture Photography, Intro to Photojournalism, Florence Sketchbook, and Intermediate Italian. I'd like to take a cooking class too but we'll see! I'll be staying in an apartment somewhere near the school. I'm super thankful that God has provided my friend Haley to travel and live with!

I cannot wait to get to Italy!! I've been there once before, and it is my favorite place I've ever been. It will be so different living there for a whole semester and being able to truly experience and absorb the culture. I hope to learn a lot, among many things, about myself. I have said for a long time that my dream job is to be a traveling photographer, and I think being abroad for 4 months can really help me decide if I really do want to do that.

I also think that this trip will test my faith. God has been so good to me and I have grown in Him so much this year. But it will be different, living in a primarily Catholic country, trying to find a church and a solid body of believers. I hope and pray that I will move forward in my relationship with Christ, not stay in the same place, and not become complacent. I would appreciate your prayers in this as well.

Well I guess that's all for now, arrivederci!
